Messing around with nntpchan and trying to learn it's design.

1. Installed and functioning. Ok.

2. Yes, I'm at step 2. Does it create groups on it's own from syncing
with other systems, or do you create them yourself?

I've only spent a few minutes on it, and I'll be back to mess with it
more later, but this is where I am at the moment.

Thats is what I expected it to, but it did not. Not the groups in feeds.ini and no the ones it were actually having access to on the server.
Can you log in with srnd to inn2 ?
Did you try to sync only overchan groups or others as well ?

When trying to log in to inn2, the server logs say I'm connected, then
nntpchan immediately disconnects with:

TLS Handshake done

followed by:

tls: handshake failure

Kind of confusing.

Well, it seems like connecting to inn is untested (according
to overchan/t discussion).
So unless the author or somebody else fixes the code, theres
not so much chance to get it to run imo.

well, I tried without tls, so I cannot comment on the
failure message. But I never suceeded to log in from srnd to
inn2 either.
The folks on overchan said its untested, seems like overchan
runs purely on srnd.

My thought was to see if I could connect to srnd from inn2 instead. But
I don't see how groups are created in srnd. If I don't have any groups,
I have nothing to sync.

I need to spend a bit more time on it. I may not get anywhere, but I'm
not giving up quite yet.

note that even if you get it to run, it will most probably
only display boards that belong to the overchan hierarchy
(this is also coming from the discussion on overchan).

Personally, I would like to see more of the /alt/ hierarchy. But I have to research a bit more before I can answer.
