So I have this slow computer in my office that I haven't used for a while.
It was running fahclient (Folding@home) for my wife who was interested in
that for a while then got bored.

I decided today that it would be great for a project I'm working on. Just
one thing. What's the password? I don't usually forget passwords, but I
don't seem to have recorded this one anywhere, and I certainly don't
remember it.

So I guess in a few days I have to boot it from a cd and change it to
something else. That kind of blew what I wanted to use it for today.

That'll teach me (probably not).

lol, i have done that more than once.

but nothing beats writing an mbr by hand because you realized too late you had some important data on the hd you just formatted.
that was some 20 years ago, still remember it well...

Did you get back into the filesystem? That's a bit scary. I've lost data
plenty of times, but it was never really important enough to put too much
effort into.
