According to Rob's Fact Checker, Bhanu holds the record for the most
confessionals through four episodes. The longer episodes are no doubt a
factor but we still had to tolerate 35 confessionals from him. For this
season, Tiff and Kenzie have each had 28 confessionals thus far but at
least they're playing the game. Tim and Hunter are tied for last with
six confessionals each.

This was also mentioned by a poster on Sucks who further claimed that
Bhanu’s 35 confessionals were more than Natalie, Sandra, Sophie, and
Parvati did in each of their entire winning seasons. I have not fact checked
this and don’t intend to, but, the fact that these statements are being
made just goes to show how abnormal the first 4 episodes of S46 were.

I agree totally that the first four episodes of S46 have been very
abnormal. So weird that they put so much focus on a player who had no
idea how to play the game despite being a superfan. It's too bad they
didn't go ahead with a TC last week. They clearly made changes on the
fly to handle Randen's (sp?) medical departure and could have easily
made further changes to deal with losing two players at once. A tribe
shuffle into two tribes of seven for a few weeks would have worked and
spared us last episode's cringe moments.

has a website that quantifies every confessional done
by every player in every season:

beats her by 3. FYI, Cirie did the most that season
with 52.

S20: Sandra did 27 confessionals in total, so the
Mighty Bhanu beats her by 8. Hantz was top dog
with an amazing 68.

S23: Sophie did 25 confessionals which means
that Bhanu crushed her by 10. Incredibly,
Benjamin Wade bored us to death with 78
in total.

In Sandra’s other season (Pearl Islands) she was
able to defeat Bhanu resoundingly with 55
confessionals. However, Rupert narrowly edged
her with 61.

I just looked at the site you referenced and there's no way this data is
correct. Sandra had no confessionals in Episodes 2 thru 7? I'm tempted
to go watch Episode 2 to prove this stat wrong.

Does Rob's Fact Checker have stats?

I had a look at that site and found the spreadsheet they have that
breaks down every season by episode. In S20, they claim that Sandra had
no confessionals in episodes 2 thru 7. I don't recall Sandra being
invisible for nearly half of that season. Natalie White only having 15
confessionals is believable as the show did her duty. They also had a
huge hard-on for Russell and were giving him the WWF heel treatment
build up for S20.

I might be wrong about this, but "modern" Survivor (>S30?) seems to have
a lot more confessionals than in the old days.

If so, it is in line with modern Hollywood shooting movie
techniques which is, rather than showing stuff happening,
zooms in on the actors face and let him/her talk.
