Tonight's episode is titled "Cancel Christmas" and apparently will see
the tribes merge.

Tonight’s episode started off back at Siga’s camp right after the last
TC. It was confirmed that Moriah was left out of the vote and that she
felt bad for voting for Ben who she said was always good to her. He knew
she voted for him but told her not to worry about it. Tim, on the other
hand, told us that if they’re forced to vote out another Siga that he’s
voting for Mo.

Siga and Yanu both had notes delivered to their camps telling them to
drop their buffs and that they would be getting a new home. Not
surprisingly, Hunter’s tribe got to stay in place. Hunter then rushed to
find the key so he could open the box containing his HII. The edit made
it seem like he had to get the HII before the other two tribes arrived
which he did just in the nick of time.

Tribes “Merge”

When everyone got together it didn’t take long for some of them to go
into hardcore game mode. Venus threw Tevin and Soda under the bus hard
for treating her like shit and Tevin did the same to her. Moriah wanted
to build new relationships but for some reason told the others that it
was a unanimous vote to boot Jem which made Siga appear very united. Q
was upset when he found out that Tim had not told Maria about the “+1”
plan. Q was playing very aggressively tonight. I found it funny when
Maria told us that Tim would only be third on her list of who she’s
closest to. She seemed legit surprised that Tim chose her as his +1 and
not Ben. Q made note of this and let his allies know.

Immunity Challenge

When the tribes all met up on Venus’s beach they weren’t given new buffs
so the players knew that the merge had not happened. Jeff confirmed this
at the start of the IC. For the IC they would all draw rocks and be
split into two teams of six based on the color of the rock they drew.
The person who drew the gray rock would sit out and have to choose which
team they wanted to tie their fortunes to. The winning team would be
given buffs, a feast meal, and be safe at TC where they would also get
to vote. I’m not a fan of this twist because whether someone makes the
merge or not should not be dependent on a random draw.

The draw turned out great for Yanu. Kenzie ended up with all of the guys
except for Charlie who ended up with girls. Tiff drew the gray rock and
chose to go with Kenzie’s team. The challenge was very physical. Charlie
and the girls did remarkably well but not good enough. Hunter killed it
on the puzzle. It should be noted that the puzzle was so complex that it
was broken into three parts with everyone having to work on the puzzle
in pairs. I don’t recall that ever happening before.

Back at Camp

It was clear from the start that it would be either Moriah or Venus
going tonight. Q told Venus to vote for Moriah and that she would be
good. He wanted Mo gone because she told him her favorite past player is
Aubry. Q told the others that meant Mo is smart. But Venus didn’t want
to vote out a girl and pushed for Charlie. When Q found out about this,
he wanted to boot Venus.

Tribal Council (Night 13)

There was no real drama at TC other than Moriah trying to save herself
by letting the others know the last vote was not unanimous. Hunter told
her she should have said that when first talking to them and I believe
she replied, “That’s right.” She played her SITD but it read “NOT SAFE.”
The final vote was 10–1 as Hunter had lost his vote and Moriah lost hers
when she played her SITD. I was surprised to see that the one vote for
Venus was from Charlie. I thought for sure Tim would vote to boot her.

Next Episode

Looks like Tiff and Kenz might be tiring of Q’s antics and more drama
involving Venus.

Charlie on why he voted for Venus.

Reason I voted Venus:
1. Everyone told me she was saying my name.
2. I knew Mo was playing her SITD way before Venus. Who told me? MO DID.
So, to protect myself and Maria from a ricochet vote (ala J. Maya), I
voted for the person saying my name up and down the beach. That’s it.

Advice from Mo.

Moral of the story - if you’re on Survivor & someone asks who your
favorite player is, don’t say a deep cut like 3-time player Aubry Bracco

When I saw the one vote for Venus I assumed the players as a group had just
decided beforehand to put at least one vote on Venus in case Mo played the
shot in the dark successfully. I realize they had not yet seen S45 at time
of filming (Charlie's tweet notwithstanding) when Caleb's successful SITD
negated all votes against him, but it just seemed these players were smart
enough to allow for that possibility. Odd that Charlie was the only one who
thought of it.

I wonder if he got some assistance from the camera operator who was
following him around at that point? Initially, Hunter was digging under
one of the upper steps, and then suddenly moved to a totally different
spot which did not even look like a step to me.

Yes, it has become apparent that Tim’s “close relationship” with Maria,
which he spoke of in E05, is a bit of a fantasy bond.

I totally agree. Besides the problem that you mentioned,
I also disliked the fact that representatives of three different
tribes were put into a situation where there was an
expectation that people would nominate somebody from
their former tribe(s) who would be a good boot choice.
Understandably, the members of the former Orange and
Green Tribes were not enthusiastic about discussing plans
that might result in a numbers disadvantage for them. By
the time the “merge feast” was over, only two names were
being discussed, and the six players who hadn’t been
feasting were totally on the outside looking in.

> to vote out a girl and pushed for Charlie.

She was right. And furthermore, how did “dead weight” like Soda
and Liz escape scrutiny from the people who were driving the
Moira/Venus vote? And how is it that Maria, Tim, Charlie, and
Ben agreed to vote for a player whose loss would put them at
a 5-4 disadvantage compared to the former Orange Tribe?

Yes, whenever that topic of conversation comes up, it might be wise
to go back to the early seasons, and toss out the name of a player who

She sounds bitter as hell which leads me to believe that her days on
the island are numbered.

Better would be someone like Colleen Haskell, since Courtney did have a
certain edge to her.

She definitely has "Next" written all over her, especially since it will be
Nami's turn to give someone up.

She said Natalie White just so we could see Q's reaction. NW would be a
great player to mention as most fans seem to think she was dragged to
the end by Russell.

Based on the reaction to her tweet I wonder if there's more to this.

Tweet from Katurah:

Soooo.. we’re allowed to spill tea about our seasons now?!?!

Has 46 set a new standard ?!!

Cuz ummm.. this changes everything 😂

https://twitter.com/KaturahTopps/status/1775907937132617758

Tweet from Fishbach:

This happens every few seasons until the murmur of spilled secrets
finally makes its way to BlackRock and CBS thaws the Legal Department
out from its ancient slumber to serve Cease & Desists.

Katurah:

I cant speak for the legal side but it sureeee didn’t feel like cbs was
slumbering during 45 😂

Also spilling tea doesn’t have to equate to spilling SECRETS or
spoiling.. just adding extra ✨context✨ lol

I think Charlie just used what happened to J. Maya as an example. I
don't think he was implying he knew what had happened to her at the time.

That segment needs some explaining because it came across as being
sketchy. To me, there's no doubt that production wants as many idols in
play as possible.

As far as I'm concerned, Tim lucked out last night. Without the twist I
think he would have been a prime target. Q for sure would have pushed
hard for him to go.

IIRC, there's a bonus clip from earlier in the season that implies that
Liz and Hunter are closer than the edit has lead us to believe. Hunter
could be protecting her. Tevin and Soda are super tight so he's probably
protecting her. The four of them also have an alliance that's somewhat
based on their dislike for Venus.

Siga voting out Moriah makes little sense, especially given how they
were the most reluctant to give up a name. Maybe Q, Tiff, and Kenz were
adamant on booting Mo over Venus and in order not to make themselves
targets. the Siga four just went with the plan?

Heh! That would have certainly stopped old Cue right in his tracks

There may have been some sort of understanding reached that Moriah
would go on Day 13 and Venus would go on Day 15, resulting in the
former Green and Orange tribes remaining on equal terms, and all their
key members still in the game. However, from my perspective, it
would have made more sense for the two numerically superior tribes to
split their nine votes on Cue and Tiffany which would have guaranteed
the removal of a potentially dominant player from the game. It may have
actually played out that way if there had been a real merge. Moriah would
have liked it because she would have felt that her vote mattered, and Venus
would have been pleased to have had the opportunity to vote for an alpha
male.

Yes.

There's no doubt that a Yanu member would have gone if not for the
twist. I think the votes would have been split on Q and Kenz though. It
would have made for good TV if the votes were split 5–4 between Tiff and
Q and she played her idol. That would probably help her and Kenz drop
way down on the target list and allow them to go far into the game with
not too much worry.

Concerning your Day 13/Day 15 scenario, I doubt that happened. Hunter's
tribe seems way more game smart than Siga. If Tevin and Soda would stop
treating Venus like shit and work with her, I think they along with
Hunter could easily make Top 6.

One thing I forgot to mention when I initially posted on Wednesday is
that next week two people are being booted according to Jeff in the
preview. If they do another random draw to split into teams of six each,
there's no saying who will go jury. A bad draw could really screw
someone over.

The only thing I really remember about Natalie was how she completely
ignored Russell Hantz when he bizarrely offered her $100K on live TV to
"give up" the Survivor Winner title to him.

I was afraid that might happen but she had too many tweets to copy. The
accusations that this cast is spoiling the season must have reached CBS
and lead to their lawyers ordering Venus, etc. to delete their posts.
Someone claimed that Venus spoiled who wins S46. I either missed that
tweet or didn't understand it which is good for me because based on the
edit thus far, I have no idea who won.

Wow - wonder if the show made her remove it? There was a time not that many
years ago where players were not allowed to talk about the show until they
were voted out and they could then only do an exit interview with a CBS PR
person sitting in to keep them from saying too much. Now they are
apparently allowed to tweet and comment at will even while still in the game
as its airing, and it seems like just a matter of time until someone slips
and says too much. Wonder if Venus did that?

Also, along those lines, now that the final vote reveal is done on-site
several months before airing, I wonder if the winner has been inadvertently
revealed the last several seasons? One of the reasons they originally
went to the live reveal of the final vote back in S2 is that Hatch's win in
S1 was inadvertently revealed in an interview with Gervase, I think, where
he accidentally revealed that the winner was male. They've gone back to
doing the final vote reveal on site since S41, so I wonder if any of those
winners were also accidentally revealed by anyone?

My understanding is that spoilers of any kind other than cast spoilers,
have been very limited in the New Era. I think Venus was just giving
context to what we saw which I appreciate. CBS should also love that
these guys are talking about the show and keeping fans engaged. It also
helps with casting.
