WEISS DR. JAQUELINE SHACHTER (nee NELSON) Age 95, passed away August 19, 2021. Beloved wife of Dr. George H. Weiss. Loving mother of Sherry Shachter, Ross Shachter, Scott Shachter (Lisa), and Steve Weiss (Julie). Adoring grandmother of Sophie, Arianna, Naomi, Simon, and Julian. Dear sister of Philip Nelson and the late Jewell Ray. For decades, Jackie Weiss was an acclaimed professor of Early Elementary Education at Temple University—teaching people how to become teachers, with a focus on reading. She also specialized in teaching college students who would be facing bi-lingual Spanish/English classrooms. She is also the author of several renowned books on the subject of teaching children's literature. Family and friends are invited to her Graveside Service (in)...Springfield, PA... Contributions in her memory may be made to a charity of the donor's choice...
