"Of all my books my favorite is a tiny one, long out of print, called
Hello and Good-by. It contains many of my early and still favorite
poems and is illustrated with simple line drawings by my husband
Norman. I specifically asked that it be small enough for a little
child's hands, a somewhat unusual format in those days."

Also the author of the series "You Read to Me, I'll Read to You." (Not
to be confused with John Ciardi's poetry book illustrated by
Edward Gorey. There are other books by that name too.)

I first heard of her in "Cricket" in the late 1970s - the poem was "Yellow
Butter, Purple Jelly, Red Jam, Black Bread."
