I'm goin' to have to question this, pol doesn't come up in my auto-correct or the auto-correct of a online group of about 30 people. It is an informal word in the dictionary (for politician) , but auto-correct suggests PO as in post office (box) for 'po' or other common words like post, poor, etc. For 'poe', it suggests poem, poet.
