Living in the Future:

I just took off my Sunday knee hose and threw them into the laundry
bin, to be washed along with my other clothes.

Not only that, they are years old, and I expect them to survive dozens
more machine washings.

(Cheat: they have been forgotten in the seldom-worn socks drawer many
of those years.)
