In a newsgroup I lurk in, someone said:

"A soup maker is very easy to use any many leftover veggies can be
used. It makes a big enough quantity for a few bowls full."

So what in flim flam is a "soup maker", and how does it differ from a
crock pot?

A bit different form factor, and it can do the blending as well if you
want a smooth soup. At least in some of them you can also use it for
smoothies.

One can, and what's more one can get alphabet pasta so one can make
one's own.

(I haven't had any for about the same amount of time as you, but I do
the shopping and have seen it in the market.)

A high-end digital soup maker gives you the choice of uppercase,
lowercase, both, full ASCII, full EBCDIC, the whole of Unicode, just
the 16 hexadecimal digits (0 through 9 and A through F), or just
0 and 1. (Or at least that's what I would expect a product with
that name to do.)

But cereal makers were years ahead, inventing Alpha-Bits in 1957.
Note the "bits." Not just digital, but binary. Wikipedia says
it's been discontinued. Maybe it's just been upgraded to ternary.
Balanced ternary, of course, since every child needs a balanced
breakfast. The 0 trits have no calories, and the -1 trits have
negative calories.

A Google search turns up about a dozen different brands. Amazon and
Walmart both carry online. Walmart even carries chickpea alphabet pasta.
