" Recently heard a delectable new (new to me) way of presenting
Jaijaiwanti. Dr. Vikas Kashalkar (Ulhas' brother) gave a nice concert
recently in Pune. He sang Jaijaiwanti which sounded different hence I
asked to exaplain after the concert. He said he sang it by using
Khamaj ang, rather than Des or Bageshree (the common two types).
There were phrases such as GMPDnD, MPDnDPMG. Also there were the
usual RGMPD--G, etc, and the usual tell-tale swar uccharan of
Jaijaiwanti. Curiously the approach to N - it remained MPN-, which
was like the des ang. Khamaj flavor was an interesting twist and was
used cleverly, without overdoing it. "
