How the fuck are John Mayall and Alexis Korner early influences? Korner didn't make his first recordings until 1957, while Mayall didn't record until 1964.

Meanwhile, Wynonie Harris, Roy Brown, and the Ravens are not even considered for induction as early influences. With each year that passes, that hall of fame becomes an even bigger joke.

They're not. That's not what they call the category anymore. They now give that category the meaningless name "Musical Influence" and use it to induct acts like Kraftwerk and Gil Scott-Heron who either could not or would not get in though the regular voting process.

It is also conceptually indistinguishable from the "Musical Excellence Award," which evolved out of the old "side-man" category.
