I've noticed Ebay.com has taken steps to reduce
shill bidding in auctions: by automatic payment of
the winning bid. That suits me fine as a buyer,
that means less shill bidding.

My policy as a buyer on auctions was/is to bid the
highest price I want to pay for the rare item and
never increase the bid. If I "lost" to shill
bidding, so what? Shill bidding is crooked and
I don't want to buy from criminals.

I suppose shill bidding can still take place, but
imposes fees on the shill "winner" of the
auction.

Ebay says nothing about automatic payments curbing
shill bidding.

In my opinion curbing shill bidding is a great
improvement as I am a buyer, not a seller.

YouTube is awash with clips of John Wilson at the BBC Proms over the years.=
Here is one well worth viewing, in which he takes Franz Waxman's "Ride of =
the Cossacks" at a hell of a lick. Look out for the trio of Wagner Tubas as=
well as the two timpanists going bananas on their kettle-drums and the two=
lady piccolo players having their work cut out! ...

Although the name of this group is "rec.music.classical.recordings," I
defer to those with knowledge of the string teaching repertoire. I see
his Nocturnes are represented in Suzuki Level 8 for viola.

IMSLP shows an impressive 233 pages of which I've encountered none to my
memory.

Cool, songs for soprano, clarinet and piano to keep the shepherd on the
rock company.

Good find.... Emmanuel (with 2 "m"s), I guess, and I don't recall
anything else from him either.
