Well I certainly haven't listened to the whole thing, but one thing became apparent when I sampled about 10 minutes. He takes the repeats and he varies the repeats. That's to his credit I think.

I also like the touch and phrasing, which feels (maybe wrongly!) as close to a modern informed harpsichord rendition as I've ever heard on a modern piano.

As Laurence Kart says, it is precious mincing. But be positive, precious mincing is not a priori the worst way of approaching the work -- and I'd rather have it than coarseness and banality. And I'd say that Yuan's precious mincing leans towards refined elegance and sophisticated moderation, so it's all good!

valid criterion for judging piano performance?
