Most keyboards are electric these days. Not just for the neighbours either.

Young musicians use a lot of software for creating songs these days. I'm totally in favour of that. My own Bechstein grand went, and I have a Roland electric piano in its place. Which, naturally, is hooked up to software for songwriting.

Joe Zawinul said that electric keyboards transformed his live band sound. At last he could recreate the range of orchestral instruments he grew up with in his conservatoire days in Austria. And then go way beyond that.

I don't see a problem here.

get to develop finger legato skills and a
round deep tone.
