Sounds like a golden opportunity to start a new political
party to make Tasmania great again! ;-)

Cheers

> It is currently the only state or territory in the Commonwealth to have a Liberal (i,e, conservative) government, and that is hanging on by a thread.. The Australian Labor Party - spelt that way since its foundation in the 1890s - is in power everywhere else.

So, what's your opinion on this? Is it good that the ALP is in power everywhere in Australia? ;D

> It's been suggested that Tasmania would be a great place to build wind farms, but unfortunately the cost of transmitting all the power that Tasmania doesn't use to the mainland would be horrendous. Besides most of the rest of Australia is excellent for solar power - we generate most of ours from domestic EV panels and only use appreciable amounts of grid power during the winter months. Even then, the ACT Government gets - it claims - 100% of its grid supply from non-renewable sources including solar farms in South Australia, hundreds of miles away. We save a lot of money that way.

You probably mean renewable sources, as a solar farm is a source for renewable energy... You think you are saving a lot of money that way? Got any studies to prove this? In Germany we have lost a lot of money by going green ;D

Do you know how much energy and money it costs to build wind farms? And do you have any idea, how long it takes for the wind farms to bring back in the money and energy they cost? Imagine building an amusement park for 25 Million US$ and how long it would take for the amusement park to get this money back in the first place ;D (probably much faster than the windfarms btw)
