Returning to and enjoying Hans Davidsson's meantone-Buxtehude recordings, feeling like this way you can really hear Buxtehude as 'bleeding-edge', even if just for fun. Who plays Baroque French organ in unequal temperament? Booklet notes with discussion of appropriate temperaments for Couperin or Nivers or whoever?

Well, my own update:

Yves-G. Prefontaine's recording '1753' (I guess not quite baroque...) is audibly unequal, as is his Duphly harpsichord recording, and he talks about temperaments in some liner notes.

David Ponsford in his big french organ series maybe also is on unequal instruments.

Didn't Marie-Claire Alain record Couperin's organ masses at Poitiers in
unequal temperament?

Not unequal temperament, not what anyone here is looking for, but going through old recordings I was reminded about how wonderful Nicolas Bucher's Grigny mass is, and how inspiring his booklet essay is

https://static.qobuz.com/goodies/64/000132446.pdf

Sarlat is tuned meantone and Marie Claire Alain's Grigny there is a high point I think. Quite a contrast from Bucher, both wonderful.

Thanks for the essays. I'm really enjoying Robert Bates in Titelouze and Correa de Arauxo who I hadn't even heard of.
