Now I'm in the mood to order at least two more Bruckner cycles, including the one recorded between 2005 and 2012 by the Gewandhaus Orchestra from Leipzig, with Blomstedt conducting! (His recording of the Third symphony with the Berlin Philharmonic, which I posted here a few days ago, is outstanding.)

The Bruckner 7 in the SWR box is indeed the famous Bruckner 7 by Rosbaud, but in mono sound. The best stereo transfer of it is here:

And no, the other four discs are not Rosbaud, and not nearly as notable. But this was orignially somethign you could buy new for under $10, so you ought to be able to find it cheap. It was worth it for the Rosbaud disc.

I don't care for stereo and want the whole Rosbaud box.

I'm not saying don't buy any Rosbaud box. I have them all. The SWR boxes are consistently great, just with a few oddities. I'm simply saying that 7 can be heard in far better fidelity.
