When compiling the Philadelphia Orchestra discography, did you come across information on Trombone section album done during the Henry Charles Smith and Robert Harper era? I recall reading a review in an old Brass Bulletin, but have been unable to find a picture or catalog information about the album. I had asked some Orchestra members but they didn't know about it. Thanks

Eric

The closest thing I know of is the LP, "Catch the Brass Ring," by the "Torchy Jones Brass Quintet." Word had it that Ormandy had it squelched because he didn't want his musicians playing a jazz album.

Thanks. That isn't it. Was just Trombone section only. I hope Sony does a Philly Brass Album collection like they did the Woodwinds. Would be nice to have "Catch the Brass Ring" on CD.

Eric
