Just discovered Robert Hill's youtube channel, an absolute treasure trove - fortepiano, harpsichord, clavichord etc., a lot of Bachs J.S. C.P.E. and even W.F., not my usual wheelhouse but he does the very very special thing of making this music sound actually free-flowing, charismatic, sophisticated chamber music. Really unique approach, the only other person who comes close, probably, is Edoardo Torbianelli.

Robert Hill is the brother of Keith Hill, 'maverick' (not my word) keyboard instrument maker, who is associated also with Rubsam, Farr and a few others. I knew about Robert Hill from his incredibly enjoyable CD of W.F. Bach on fortepiano, but he seems to have mostly dropped out of the world of commercial recording shortly after that. It's nice to find that there's tons more of his recordings available!

His YouTube channel is good, I agree. I remember a Bull fantasy, an Emmanuel Bach Fantasia, a 2016 concert of French suites and a BWV 825 on a Chrisfori.

I don't recall the impetus, but I heard his recently posted Bach "Largo
in C Major from the Sonata in G Major BWV 968 (after BWV 1005)."
Tremendous freedom: rubato, broken chords, hands separate.

His channel seems quite active with unusual versions of familiar things:
Beethoven Op 17 with cello instead of the original French horn, keyboard
arrangements of Bach, etc.

I hope at some point, selfishly, that he collects this stuff into a series of organized releases on bandcamp or something like that. But maybe what's better is for me to get more comfortable with a streaming-style conceptualization of 'a release', a la Jonathan Dunford recording and releasing a suite here, a piece there, etc.
