In fairness he does not suck as
much as do Haitink and Boring
van Beerthoven. This is without
question the ugliest fiddle
concerto ever written. Yada
yada scales and arpeggios
from the beginning to the
end. No trace of harmonic
or rhythmic invention to
be heard anywhere. It is
a march for violin with
orchestral accompaniment.

1st movement sucks, second has some beautiful moments maybe, third has some fun moments maybe

That would be my summary.

Generally I don’t seem to like vcs too much (prefer solo violin or violin in chamber) except for Bach, Mozart and Prokofiev and also Schoenberg and berg… should probably relisten to Mendelssohn… while we’re at it: to hell with Sibelius‘s vc, fucking garbage
