Yoko's behavior became increasingly weird and was accompanied by a marked deterioration in her physical appearance. Her face was haggard, her eyes glassy around pinned pupils, and she began to spend much of her time in the bathroom making loud snorting noises followed by frightful retching. At first I thought Yoko was ill, but then I realized that she was simply strung out on heroin. She began to spend virtually all her time downstairs. Her day started at dawn with a visit from Bart Gorin, a lanky young man who worked for Sam Green. It was an open secret that Sam's assistant supplied Yoko with her daily dose of the drug.

Took drugs for years yet failed to kill herself with an
overdose!

She almost did it near the end of this smack bender. Sam Green eventually took Yoko to a doctor who dealt with heroin addicts -- and stayed in her room while she went through a painful & protracted withdrawal. When she'd gotten off the drug, Yoko presented Sam with an ancient-- and extremely valuable -- samurai sword.

It's incredibly sad and pathetic that John was susceptible to Yoko's manipulations.

I don't think they could stand each other while off drugs. They started in on the smack almost immediately after getting together; the breakup occurred shortly after the Chinese acupuncturist/herbalist got them off the drug; then almost immediately upon returning to the Dakota, they resumed their junkiedom. Jesse Ed Davis recalled that, on encountering Yoko in the mid-70s, she pulled his sleeve, indicated his track marks, and asked: "Know where we can get some?"

Lennon said in the Playboy interview that Yoko was "going through convultions" while at the hospital to deliver Sean because "doctors had injected her with the wrong blood type." Bullshit. She was going through heroin withdrawal. That's a responsible mother!
