Into the 1600s the Ottoman succession involved a
Sultan forbidden to have children before he succeeded
killing all his brothers as soon as he succeeded.

There were also assassinations going on,and feuding
concubines/consorts/mothers.

What would have happened to the Ottoman Empire if
it ran out of Ottoman Emperors?

I don't think the menfolk would let the "Sultanate
of Women" emerge from behind the scenes,but how strong
were the Islamic clergy?

Forcibly-converted concubines and Janissaries might
cause friction with the voluntary believers?
