Someone sold the shop a Haslab Unicron, with all the Titans and the Haslab Victory Saber. The Victory Saber and most of the titans sold instantly, before I got to see them, but the Unicron will be on top of our drink fridge apparently until it sells. Someone offered to sell his kidney for the funds but our drink fridge has no space for kidney.

I just have another 800 other Transformers that arrived with it to put out and price tomorrow, so I won't really get time to admire it. Massive amounts of mystery boxes.

This was the day after we sold out of Legacy Armada Megatron and 5/6 core dinobots. Swoop is the only good looking one.

What is up with the kidults nowadays. Doesn't anyone keep their toys for at least 25 years anymore? I guess we don't have to wait as long to see if a better version comes out like we used to. But man, this new generation of collectors is so fickle, not playing the long game.

I saw a big wall of titans at a local toy shop today, with sticker kits and upgrade parts and all their packaging and giant $500+ price tags. This sure ain't the garage sale days of the 80s.

I wonder if Unicron is actually more expensive than the current going rate for human kidneys. There's like 8 billion people so 16 billion kidneys. Everybody's got one. But only a few thousand Unicrons are out there.

Most of the Titans were around $150~250 with only Metroplex going much higher

Humans can also produce more kidneys without needing to build a factory....

How much did they sell it for, and how much is your shop charging for it? (If he sold it for less than $616, he took a loss.)

You really do have the coolest job. Like, I manage a toy department, but sadly it's only about five percent Transformers and like ninety-five percent Other Stuff. Right now, the focus is pools and water guns, and it hasn't even officially gotten hot in Utah yet. That'll likely happen in July, and by then all the pools and water guns will be deleted and I won't be able to order any more. You basically have to order a crap ton of the stuff in like April and then just sit on it for months. It's a stupid game they make you play.

Zob (honestly, I make the same money whether we run out of pools or not... just sayin')

I want to say it's $1799.99 now

Last month we took in a combined 2300 Funko Pops. I hate Funko pops and they're overflowing, then 44 rubbermaid tubs of Starwars I managed to reduce down to 19 tub of loose vintage Starwars. We've still got about 50 tub of loose Lego figures to go through (a combined 700 pounds or so)

We order Transformers through distributors a year out and at least half of them will never arrive because they've been redirected to Walmart or Gamestop.

Of 14 tubs of loose transformers I ended the day with 16 tubs of loose transformers. The problem, like with GI joes, is you will have 1 piece in 1 tub, a gun in a different tub, the instructions in a 3rd tub and the bot itself in a 4th unrelated tub to put together 1 $10 transformer. I already sold Optimus Exprime and CW Defensor and found more parts later on. At least I know Transformers, GI joe is a much bigger nightmare.

Our transformer case was full before this all started.

My bonus at my main job is how many of a specific class of printer the store sells. My monthly goal is 45 each in 2 different stores, and neither store has recieved 45 of that printer across the span of a year, much less a month.

The other district I'm competing with had a goal of 1 of this printer in 90 days and they send him 28 per week. He's at 4900% of his goal and I'm supposed to "catch up"

1 job I stand around doing nothing and the other job I run all of the inventory management and am currently drowning in

That seems to be approximately the going rate on the secondary market. I feel sorry for anybody forced to pay aftermarket prices. That would be completely unattainable for me now.

Funko is rapidly losing their market share. I think there are still die-hard collectors, but they expanded so rapidly and delved into such obscure IP's that the mainstream interest in them just tanked. I read somewhere that Funko themselves were destroying thousands of their own toys because it was costing them too much to keep them all in storage, month after month. It's like how the Beanie Babies were the hottest thing since solar plasma, decades ago, and now they're worth pennies on the dollar. You can't give those stupid things away.

Zob (a collection is only worth what somebody is actually willing to pay for it)

I think we sold Victory Saber for $279, Metroplex for $499, Devastator for I think $249, The Ark for $175, Trypticon for $249, Commander Jetfire for $89, Commander Rodimus for $69, Commander Sky Lynx for $79
CW Sky Reign for $129, POTP Volcanicus for $99, I spent so much time on all of that

We have about 2 or 3 people a week asking if we buy Beanie Babies, and we say we sell beanie babies for 25 cents if they come in, so we don't give money for beanie babies and don't know anyone who does. People try to tell me that one is worth hundreds, and I always have to tell them it's not worth that to us.

Funko destroyed 3 million items in their pop offerings, but their pop offerings include Advent calendars and the Funkoverse game which are wildly unpopular, but that action scared off a lot of collectors that were treating Funkos as investments and they jumped ship when they heard of Funko destroying their own product, without knowing specifically what product. Generally common pops that are $12 at Walmart or Target we would buy for $1.75 and sell for $5, but we always have buy 3 get one free going on almost year round now.

People are stupidly obsessed with the boxes on those things. If Funko did windowless boxes these would exist their entire lives never knowing if there were an actual pop in the box. I fear that may be the fate of many a Unicron too. I fear if someone pay $1799.99 for Unicron they may treat it as an investment and never open it, which is sad in a way.

I'm so tired of trying to explain how investments work.
