With today's date being 10/27, and Hasbro's address being 1027 Newport Avenue, they had an annual livestream event today which included some exclusive drops and reveals.

One of them is Legacy: United Magmatron, a Commander-class toy and character who is prominently featured in the United artwork. He retails for $89.99, can split into three dinosaurs just like the vintage Beast Wars Neo toy, and ships on July 1, 2024:

The "Project: Waffles" toy also dropped, the Collaborative licensing arrangement between Transformers and Stranger Things, featuring the pizza delivery van from the new season of the TV series. Apparently his name is Code Red. He would be the good basis for a custom Ironhide or Ratchet toy, if we hadn't already gotten a really good Ironhide/Ratchet out of Studio Series:

Magmatron looks great, can't say i'm super familiar with the character but I will definitely pick this one up.

I'd also like to mention that apparently this isn't a retool of the Siege/Earthrise Vannete mold even though it's very similar (leg flaps, arms, feet, all look similar to the Siege mold) a fitting use of Engineering reuse.

Swivelbot (Magmatron's only opposite number at the moment is Lio Convoy/Tasmania Kid and not Big Convoy and that is weird)

I mean, you're not wrong. Mostly I just think he's interesting. I got the original version when Hasbro sold it during the Beast Machines era, and enough time has passed since my young adulthood that I'm kind of nostalgic about it now. I think Robots in Disguise is the last new Transformers series I really loved, and I would have a tough time getting nostalgic about anything from Armada and beyond. But Beast Machines happens before the cut-off point.

I know, I'm completely arbitrary.
