Our third on-screen Junkion character, Scrapheap (not to be confused with Junkheap!), was made available for pre-order yesterday (he's the guy who tries to wrap a chain weapon around helicopter-mode Springer early in the fight on the Planet of Junk):

Apparently, people went bananas over this guy. He sold out almost immediately, whereas the many, many other toys that dropped yesterday (video game Starscream, live-action movie Megatron and movie Rumble based on concept art, etc.) did not sell out. As of this morning, you could still get Scrapheap from Entertainment Earth or Big Bad Toy Store.

I was lucky and got my preorder in with no problems. Yay!

Facts are facts: G1 sells. Other stuff is a gamble.

I have an Amazon distribution center about half an hour away from my house. I have ordered things off Amazon and have literally received them the SAME DAY.

But, I don't know why I don't order from them more. They're always, like, my third choice after Hasbro Pulse and BBTS. I think they have dicked around with release dates so many times that I stopped fully trusting them.

But, I do like the fact that if you pre-order something, and the price goes down at any point between the time you pre-ordered and the time they ship, they will adjust the price for you. That's super cool.

Actually, I need to dispute this. There are a LOT of reported instances of people ordering something from Amazon and receiving something else in the box instead. People will make Amazon returns where they do a figure swap and get their money back, and then instead of disposing of the product, Amazon resells it to some other unlucky sap. I've seen it reported often enough on Reddit that it's become a regular thing.

I haven't had it happen personally, but statistically I think it's bound to happen sooner or later. In the meantime, I feel like it's safer to keep ordering from Hasbro Pulse or Big Bad Toy Store, who seem to only deal in new, unused product. (BBTS will occasionally have a bits n' pieces sale, because they've parted out things to dissatisfied customers, but they seem to do a good job of segregating their unopened product from the ones they've rifled through.)
