I was not actually aware that "Nothing's Gonna Stand In Our Way" from the Transformers: the Movie soundtrack, by Spectre General/Kick Axe, was a cover version of an earlier edition by John Farnam for a 1984 film called Savage Streets.

I had not heard this! Oddly enough, I did not hate it either, even though the song is movie version is a favourite of mine. I can go with the original.

Have to say though, I feel the song works better with the Quintessa sequence providing the visuals rather than this video of the world's lowest stakes romance.

Nice find, Zob! I've actually loved this (original) version of the song for years. Yes, the move is a bit of a potboiler, and not even objectively good, but there is a poignancy and pathos there all the same that - to me - is so uniquely associated with being a young person in the 80s.
