This is the second in the "Chilling Effect" series.

Following the mega-battle in the first book against the Evull
Organization known as The Fridge, that specializes it sticking captives
in stasis until their families pay up, Captain Eva Innocente and the
crew of La Sirena Negra find themselves once again running various odd
jobs.

Eva gets a call from her sister Mari, whose deception about being a
captive of The Fridge had led to the previous events. In reality, Mari
is an agent for an anti-Fridge organization. And she has a job offer
for Eva, tracking down scientist Josh Zafone. Which is interesting, as
his family, including Eva's engineer Sue, believe him to be a Fridge
victim. At any rate they've been paying for him.

Eva and the crew begin tracking Josh. To Eva's dismay, the clues lead
to Garilia, the site of tramatic past events. Where Eva is either a
mass murderer or a Hero of the Revolution, depending on who you ask.

As is usual with these, Eva believes in the Do don't Think method of
tackling problems, leading to a variety adventures as they try to
figure out what's really happening on Garilia and Josh's role in it.
Oh, and her estranged mother is somehow mixed up in it.

The book is, like the first, fast-paced and action-packed. Eva and
family use a lot of Spanish slang at times, which I tended to find
annoying unless I looked up the phrases.
