stuff.

I repented. And Yahoo killed their groups.

Yahoo had something semi-related to groups that was called "Profiles".
I'm a little fuzzy on the details now, but they gradually killed it, making
it less & less useful to those actually using it. It was rather amusing
watching the posts from the Yahoo rep who was tasked with making each loss
of function update sound like a good idea. She plainly didn't believe
it herself, but had taken the King's shilling..

That strikes me as much more deliberate sadism than just pulling the
plug and killing it in one action.

In a way, I'm surprised that usenet access and archives have lasted
this long. My contention is that when they public, the motto changed
from "Don't Be Evil" to "Don't Be Not Making Money".
