While not condoning the behaviour, this sort of response is why I am extremely reluctant to filter, and would rarely consider occupying an advanced stop box at lights. ASLs might work in London and Oxford, but elsewhere, motorists just get irate at some cheeky cyclist getting in front and in their way.

I know that even using a cycle lane to pass a line of stationary traffic can make some drivers' blood boil... and the Spectator reminds of why it is so wrong to do anything that might randomly upset a motorist, you don't want to end up a ghost bike through your own foolish choices like minding your own business rather than riding to aid drivers' psychological problems.
