The limit is on what Russia will let NATO get away with.

Ukraine could win in a month if NATO really let slip the proverbial dogs
of war but then Russia would most likely nuke Ukraine totally. You just
can't leave that sort of thing unanswered when you're Russia.

Which is why Biden is so desperate to keep Zelensky in check. He knows defeating Russian troops, pushing back Russian lines, attacking inside Russia, providing the weapons to facilitate all that, risks provoking Russian wrath.

Ukraine blowing up the Nord Stream pipeline, the Kakhovka dam, Zaporizhzhya NPP, attacking NATO countries, could easily lead to a collapse in support, could shift the balance.

It's not easy keeping a war going forever, ensuring stalemate, while not tipping it into something worse.

So what do we do ?

We can't win without destroying ourselves.

We can't let it continue without causing more harm to ourselves than Russia.

We should have supported Ukrainians in the east in their pursuit of democracy, their desire to have autonomy, independence, self-determination. We should have simply shrugged off that they wanted closer ties to Moscow.

Zelensky was initially happy to accept that. Instead Biden decided to provoke the invasion, ignored all pleas from Zelensky to please STFU.

And now we are trapped in a war we cannot win, which is slowly destroying us, which is what Biden wanted all along.

I know you are paranoid about "give Russia east Ukraine, and they'll want Europe, then the world" but that is simply paranoia. The hard evidence is that when Russia invaded Crimea, Georgia, Moldova, supported Syria, it has been solely to secure their interests and hasn't been a launch pad for further expansion.

Fact is that Russia could have used Crimea as a launch pad for a Ukrainian invasion if they had wanted to during the last decade but they didn't.

You are simply being misled and deceived by warmongers who have got their war by pretending it would be war if there wasn't a war to prevent that war. You have been well and truly suckered. They've got the war they desired and it's proving very profitable for them, if not for those paying for it.

The worst part of it all is the west had a duty enshrined in international law to protect Ukrainians in the east from the fascism emanating from Kiev, the civil war Kiev embarked upon.

We instead stood back and let it happen, leaving Russia the only ones willing and able to act, forced them to act. Then labelled doing the right thing an act of war.

While NATO spins it as an invasion, it is, as Putin calls it, a Special Military Operation, a defence of people in Ukraine's east, entirely legitimate and mandated under UN Right to Protect international law.

The war is a result of the west opposing that.

But you don't have to believe me, a tree-hugging liberal snowflake, it's what Trump, Farage, UKIP, what many Republicans and those on the right have said.

And it doesn't really matter as it's beyond our control. It will either end when Trump or DeSantis is elected or continue if the warmongers are.
