Around 15,000 cyclists will take to London's streets tomorrow for the annual London to Brighton charity bike ride. Setting off from Clapham Common, riders will take in the breath-taking Surrey and Sussex countryside before arriving to the beautiful coastal town of Brighton.

In previous years, all entrants raised funds for the British Heart Foundation, but this year the event is teaming up with a number of other charities. A number of road closures will remain in place throughout the day to keep cyclists safe.

The first rider sets off at 6am and the last rider will set off at 9:30am. Groups of cyclist set off over the start line every 30 minutes and participants will be sent their start time via email.

The event finishes on Madeira Drive in Brighton, near Brighton Pier. After crossing the finish line, participants will then gain access to the Beach Event Village where there’s plenty of refreshments and activities for all to enjoy.

The full road closures are as follows:

Pound Street in Carshalton will be closed to traffic and Carshalton Road in Carshalton South and Clockhouse will be access-only.
Diversions will be in place with closures expected to last from 6am-1pm.. Please plan ahead before you travel.
Chapel Road, Redehall Road and Antlands Lane will be closed from 5.30am, expected to reopen 2pm.
Effingham Road, from Keeper’s Corner to West Park Road, from 5.45am to 2.15pm
West Park Road to Dukes Head Roundabout, from 6am to 2.30pm.
A one way southbound system will be in place on the B2028 and North Street in Turners Hill from 6.30am to 4.30pm
The B2028 to Summerfield Lane via Ardingly until 5pm and Oathall and Hazelgrove Road, from Oathall Avenue to Sussex Square roundabout, and the B2112 from Rocky Lane to Folders Lane until 5.30pm.
The B2112 to Ditchling will be closed from 6am to 5.30pm.
Northend Lane to Beacon Road, over Ditchling Beacon to Coldean Lane will be closed from 6am to 6pm.

Money being raised for sedentary drivers and their ailments.

AND those who jump off bridges, get run over by a lorry, and spend a
year in hospital at the taxpayers expense.
