British Challenger 2 tank hit in Ukraine

It is the first verified sighting of a Challenger 2 on the frontline since Russia invaded Ukraine in 2022.

The footage - which shows smoke pouring from the vehicle - follows claims from Ukrainian officials that its forces have breached the first Russian defensive lines in southern Ukraine.

Oh well, there goes the proud boast that it's the most heavily armoured tank in the world, is virtually indestructible, and the only time a Challenger 2 has been destroyed was in a friendly fire incident in Iraq.

And there goes £4 million-plus of tax-payer money down the drain.

I imagine the Russians who took it out are feeling rather pleased with themselves.

Maybe it was so good when it ran out of enemy targets it blew itself up?
