This is the danger of "living with covid", allowing more virulent and deadly variants to evolve and spread unchecked.

Whole sectors of the workforce can be taken out of service at the same time and it can take a long time to recover from that.

At least losing Air Traffic Control is merely inconvenient. Losing police, army, fire, surgeons, ambulance and hospital personnel wholesale will be disastrous, fatal for some.

But letting people die avoidable deaths is now official government policy. With brexit behind us the focus is on keeping small boats out and allowing the police to murder innocent people with impunity.
