And Roy Spencer - an arch Anthropogenic Global Warming denier - says 'something peculiar is going on and suggests the warmth may be down to an underwater volcanic eruption. Not global warming, of course and this is a perfect denier's explanation that is impossible to substantiate.

A denier always has to deny. Though I do agree with him that this warmth is *not* down to an El Niño (as it has not yet developed).

So it's not causing a volcanic winter this time then! Their arguments are getting thin.

It seems to me that the cause is the lack of sea ice in Antarctica. Thes has reduced global albedo and caused global warming. The lack of sea ice is the result of the greenhouse effect from anthropogenic carbon dioxide emissions such as those caused by tourists flying to the Greek islands and the Algarve etc.

Here in London SE15 we have planes going over from 5am till after
midnight, they interfere with tv reception and are a noise nuisance
I have once seen my own back garden from a plane window coming back from
Mallorca in 1980. From there it went to the Elephant and Castle and west
in to Heathrow

From the Antarctic bit of
https://nsidc.org/arcticseaicenews/charctic-interactive-sea-ice-graph/
its difficult to believe that an area of sea-ice ( about 2 million
square km) ie the size of 4 times the area of France
suddenly ( over 6 months) no longer sending heat back to space,
compared to normal around Antartica this time of year, did not have a
noticeable contribution to global heating in the last 6 months. Let
alone return of El Nino positive phase, destined to be +2.8 degrees in
ENSO ONI terms at peak, global boiling in the making
