usual in Aug or unusual, I was expecting the green to gradually creep
around Ushant, if it got into the Eng Channel?

All quite normal for some of the shyallow waters, I found the archives.
Perhaps it was thye Channel Light vessel in deep waters I had in mind
never getting to 20 deg c
