AFAIK as long as the Earth spins in the direction it does, then Coriolis
force must induce a current going northwards initiating on the western
boundary of any basin on a spinning body, Atlantic, Pacific or Indian,
the only question then is its track which varies over geological time,
for Atlantic, destinations from Grand Banks to East Africa
