It was a mistake due to a huge, chaotic scene, with numerous corpses
all over the place, many of which could not be identified.

Compare this to the hospital fiasco, in which (before they learned
it was one of their own rockets), the Hamas claimed 500 dead, while
even other Gaza sources gave 250, and objective experts between 50
and roughly 100.
