I need to connect a 1.5m length of 40mm plastic pipe using a rubber boss
connector into the 60mm opening on a 110mm branch, like this one:

https://www.toolstation.com/branch-110mm-925/p15397

All fine, but how do you neatly secure the pipe to the wall? I can't seem to
find anything other than standard 40mm clips, and even if I could it'd stand
an extra 5cm from the wall. Or maybe just one clip in the middle, and rely on
the bendiness of the pipe?

You put a block between the wall and the 40mm pipe
and stand off the 40mm pipe, or use a plastic offset
tapered adapter at the pipe join,

> I can't seem to find anything other than standard 40mm clips,

Those adapters do exist.

> and even if I could it'd stand an extra 5cm from the wall.

Trivial to put a block between the base of the clips
and the wall.

Even a lenght of timber parallel to the pipe over its full lenght.

That would look an awful bodge. .

So bending won't work, but a 75cm strip oif wood
between the wall and the pipe would work fine.

Google Mungsen Ring

Mungsen Ring back-plate screwed to wall, M10 studding between backplate
and ring

This idea but for 40mm and in stainless/brass/cast iron

I'd use a couple of 135 elbows to create a neat dogleg to the 40mm pipe
and use standard 40mm wall-mounted pipe-clips.

At least that is what I've done a couple of times.

Create a "set" in the pipe with a pair of shallow bends to step it out
to the boss at the end of the 40mm pipe run.
