MPs have backed a move to speed up compensation for victims of the NHS infected blood scandal, delivering the prime minister his first Commons defeat.

The vote was passed by 246 votes to 242 after 22 Conservatives rebelled.

The Haemophilia Society said Rishi Sunak "should be ashamed" he had been forced "to do the right thing".

It's good to know 22 tories out of 350 (6.3%), wanted Sunak to do the right thing.

The other 328 (93.7%) wanted him to do the wrong thing, wanted to completely ignore the head of the government's own inquiry recommendation to immediately provide compensation and widen the scheme.

This is a government and party who doesn't give a shit for victims, the dead, or those suffering, as a result of past government failings.

Some have been waiting fifty years for justice to be done but Sunak and other tory scum still continue to deny them that.

It is no surprise that Boris Johnson and Rishi Sunak held a view that it would be better if those who caught Covid simply died. It's no surprise Sunak chose to indulge in a 'Eat out to spread it about scheme' not caring how many that killed.
