I think everyone can make a pretty shrewd guess as to what's going on. If
Israel cuts their power off do you really need a video of people sitting
in the dark to know it's happening? I suppose having no video does allow
people to day they didn't know what was happening afterwards.

Of course none of this was happening six months ago.

and make a decent living, and continued treating thousands
of Palestinian children in Israeli hospitals.

No. What we had before 7th of October was Israelis murdering Palestinians and no one caring. Some not understanding it was a bad as it was because there was no video of it happening.

We judge sitting in the dark with no power against our own experience, think that's how it is for them, inconvenient but never mind. Video shows how much worse it actually is, the reality.

It's a bit like people not realising just what famine looked like until Michael Buerk showed us.

People not knowing what a US airstrike looked like until John Simpson became a victim of one.

Like not knowing how terrible Israeli attacks on a funeral really are until we saw it.

Let's be honest reporting "10 babies killed" doesn't evoke the same emotion as seeing them dead or just one baby blown to pieces.

Most dismissed complaints of what was happening at Abu Ghraib as the enemy merely moaning about a harsh prison regime, probably making shit up, until we saw evidence of America's torture and war crimes, and most of the evidence still hasn't been seen.

Israel's claims of taking care not kill civilians, by phoning them up, dropping leaflets, creating safe spaces, providing humanitarian aid, were believed, until we had evidence they were lying, saw that's so with our own eyes.

Not having evidence allows those committing atrocities to pretend they aren't, or are not as bad as others are saying. Plausible deniability is undermined and destroyed by evidence. Evidence shows lies as the lies they are.

That's why Israel doesn't want any evidence found, let alone seen.

As has been said; Hamas's attack didn't happen in a vacuum. Palestinian discontent did not spontaneously appear from nowhere just two months ago. No matter how much Israel wants to pretend it did.

Just a week before Hamas's attack a Palestinian doctor was murdered by Israeli forces during brutal oppression of Palestinians at the Al-Aqsa mosque.

Such things, and worse, have been going on for decades.

People on the whole have just ignored Israel's murders. Israel is hoping to keep it that way.
