Seventy five years of war, oppression, murder and abuse, having to fight every day for one's life and future, toughens people up. Most Palestinians have never known anything but that.

What I most noticed about the Rafah strike footage was the number of kids running towards the epicentre with mobile phones to put the death and carnage on Social Media. Being bombed into oblivion, living under the daily threat of death, is something they simply consider normal.

I have always said, that when Armageddon arrives, be it nuclear winter or climate catastrophe, it will be soft westerners who will succumb first. Those we we look down on are best equipped to survive.

They are the ones who will inherit the earth. What's left of it.
