Qantas.
American Airlines.
Philippine Airlines
Air Canada

I just put the details into Flightcentre and came up with quite a few
options.
I was recently looking for Melb London return for around late April
early May and noticed that prices seem to have dropped quite a bit.

Jetstars business class is certainly 'cheap' but from what I've seen on
youtube, its too cheap. Prepared to pay a bit more for a bit more comfort...

Wife just caught me looking, and said, and i quote:" i'm not buying
airfares till we come back from the NZ cruise". I may hold her to that.
Seems like she thinks she's paying. Who am i to dissapoint? :-D

Was looking at Hawaii around the same time. Maybe May-June

I must admit, I expected the airfaires to be higher. I no complain. :-)

Cheers.

I generally search on either Flightcentre, Skyscanner or Expedia.
There are lots of other sites that also search all airlines.
My first big OS trip in 2014 was organised via Flight Centre and the
whole trip went 100% to plan, trip to the UK in 2016 was via Skyscanner
and it was also without any hassle.
Expedia web site seems to be the best for checking out multi stop
flights such as what we are planning mid this year.
Its also worth checking premium economy prices, son has flown Qantas
premium economy on long haul flights and said that it was nearly as good
as business class, apparently PE varies quite a lot airline to airline
so you need to do your homework.

Dont know if Qantas do direct to Honolulu from Melb, but after some
thought, i think we'll do a bigger holiday. Always had Cape Canaveral on
my bucket list, also want to go to Oklahoma/Kansas/Tornado valley, head
over to Seattle via Wyoming, jump on a cruise ship and check out the ice
in Canada, and perhaps stay onboard back to Sydney via Hawaii.... it's
early days, buy methinks a travel agent is going to be required. :-)

get locked up with the wife for 13 days shortly, see how we go after
that! :-D

Good idea, Flightcentre did a very good job of organizing our first big
OS trip in 2014.
Friends are going to Hawaii in May and they are flying Qantas but via Syd.

If you're looking for a road trip including KSC and Seattle, it's going
to be a long one, that's just about as far as you can drive in the US. I
enjoyed KSC when I went there 20 years ago and I'll be there in April,
We're staying on Merritt Island so hopefully we'll se a launch. (I must
remember to ask how many Amegas they have there :) ). If you want to go
there first Orlando is the place to fly into, it's only about an hours
drive away. Key West is another good place to visit on Florida, it's a
fair drive though down the Florida keys.

If you want to start in Seattle, you could go via Honolulu, the
immigration people there are actually friendly not like the arseholes at
LAX (in fact avoid LAX if you can, it's a shithole). There's a fair
amount of aviation stuff in Seattle, the Boeing museum of flight (one of
the top air museums in the world), a tour of the Boeing factory in
Everett (about 1 hour north), Flying Heritage & Combat Armor Museum also
at Everett, and a bit further away the Spruce Goose at McMinnville
Oregon. There's also the Museum of Pop Culture (sounds dull but it used
to be called the Museum of Rock and Roll) and a bunch of tourist stuff
(they, at least used to, have old Melbourne trams there).

There are several ways to get to Vancouver from there where you can take
an Alaska cruise, or the Rocky Mountaineer train to Calgary. From there
you can hire a car and drive the Icefields Parkway to Jasper on the way
you can get to walk on the Athabasca Glacier. Then head back through
Kamloops, and take the old Highway #1 through Hope and back to Vancouver.

If you want any info, I may be able to help.

Wow. great info.. thanks. Wife has been to the states before we got
hooked up.. did a helo ride through the Grand Canyon which may be nice,
but KSC, tornado Alley, and Seattle/Vancouver/ice are priorities, and
the Pacific Air Museum and USS Missouri are also on the bucket list...

My mum and dad did that one. was suggested to make sure you get the top
floor on the train...

From there

Keith, many thanks. My proposed trip is in it's infancy, but I'm sure
I'll have plenty of questions for you when it gets off the ground, but
it'll be a minimum of 18 months.. have a cruise to NZ next week, another
to South Aus in November(?) and a couple of fishing trips to West Aus on
the books.

Cheers!
