It would be more convincing if Trump and his clan hadn't lied and cheated, scammed people, tried to enrich themselves at the expense of others, and had done a better job of concealing the evidence which got them convicted.

Them's the breaks. He's only got himself to blame for being such an idiot and amateur, handing the court the rope to hang him with.
