For anyone interested, the UKTV series "Retro Electro Workshop", a new
documentary about the dying art of repairing electronics (which was
announced in February), will be shown on Yesterday TV starting on 18 July.

It was better than I expected. With such a broad range of kit to be
worked on (from a valve wireless to seventies transistorised stuff) it
could only touch the tip, but of course was much too short - and
probably nothing similar will be made for another few decades.

A certain preoccupation with capacitors was evident ...

Really, such series struggle to match what can now be found on YouTube,
where there are excellent things, both about the history and how-works
of the technology, and repairing them.
