First, when sanity prevailed just a few short years ago, it was "illegal
aliens" which is exactly what they are.
Leftists are driven to come up with euphemisms that hide reality and
distort truth, so they came up with "undocumented aliens" then realizing
that "aliens" makes people think they are not from this country and have
no business at all being here [which they don't], they came up with
"undocumented migrants".
Not liking the "undocumented" part, which implies they are illegal, or
at least not totally legal, they simply dropped it and called them
"migrants" .. Which stood for most of the Bolshevik rule until now.

"Migrants" implies they aren't settled, may or may not stay, thats not
very welcoming ! So now they are "newcomers", just like a bunch of
invited guests a little late to the pig roast but finally arriving and
ready to join the feast.
