<quotes>

The US has carried out its first airdrop of aid for Gaza

C-130s dropped more than 38,000 meals along the coastline of Gaza, US Central Command said in a statement.

</quotes>

That alone will feed 1.7% of the population.

If they can manage another 115 airdrops today then most in Gaza will have two meals to last them until tomorrow.

So that's around an airdrop every 12 minutes on average, 15 million meals a week.

Media sources suggest it's around $7.25 per meal, so about half a billion dollars a month, plus fuel and flight costs.

I doubt Biden has the backbone to bill Netanyahu for the cost. He'll leave it to US tax payers to foot the bill for Israel's collective punishment of Palestinians.

Not everyone is happy ...

https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2024/3/2/us-airdrops-food-to-gaza-in-move-criticised-by-aid-organisations

<quotes>

The US’s move has been criticised as inefficient and simply a public relations move by members of international aid organisations.

"The airdrops are symbolic and designed in ways to appease the domestic base," Dave Harden, former USAID director to the West Bank, told Al Jazeera. "Really what needs to happen is more crossings [opening] and more trucks going in every day?"

"I think the United States is weak and that’s really disappointing to me," Harden added. "The US has the ability to compel Israel to open up more aid and by not doing that we’re putting our assets and our people at risks and potentially creating more chaos in Gaza."

UK-based charity Medical Aid for Palestinians echoed Harden’s statement, telling Al Jazeera in a statement that the US, the UK and others should instead work to "ensure that Israel immediately opens all crossings into Gaza for aid."

Oxfam also blasted the Biden administration’s plans, labelling the effort an attempt to assuage the guilty consciences of US officials.

</quotes>

It's a fair point - No one would need to be airdropping food for Palestinians if Israel wasn't starving them, if Biden was doing something about that, wasn't vetoing and blocking UN resolutions attempting to improve the humanitarian situation.

The Axis of Evil keeps telling us there needs to be a humanitarian pause but does fuck all to achieve that pretend goal.

Including the Republican branch of the Axis of Evil -

https://www.republicworld.com/world-news/us/biden-s-gaza-aid-airdrops-spark-partisan-rift-among-pro-israel-lawmakers

<quotes>

Republican lawmakers were uniformly opposed to the airdrops, expressing concerns about the aid potentially benefiting Hamas or undermining Israel's efforts to combat the militant group.

"If it gets to the children that's great but the problem we have had in the past is aid gets to the enemy," remarked Rep. Tim Burchett (R-Tenn).

Rep. Don Bacon (R-Neb.) echoed these sentiments, arguing against sending aid to Gaza amidst ongoing hostilities between Israel and Hamas.
