Haley showed there was a significant number of Republicans who don't want Trump as president, would vote for anyone by Trump.

That varied from state to state but worked out at 35% of Republican voters being against Trump across the board, an number which fits with other Republican estimates.

That's 21 million. not a mere "14", a number you simply pulled from your backside.

In 2022 41% of voters identified as independents, 28% as Republicans, 28% as Democrats, so it's not just about Republicans.

But the election is generally a two horse race, and the nation is roughly polarised 50-50.

In 2016 Trump won with 47% of the popular vote, Clinton lost with 48%. In 2020 Biden won with 51%, Trump lost with the same 47%.

If just 25% of Republicans vote against Trump that will deliver a landslide to Biden of 64%, with loser Trump languishing on just 35%.

You can laugh about that when it happen. Everyone else will.
