I'm recovering. A couple of years ago, around the time of the worst
medical experience of my life, I hit bingo. My white blood cell count
went up. And up. While 3.4 to 11.0 is normal, I was at 46.1. Then 74,
then 96. Last month it hit 168.6. My oncologist calls it leukemia. So I
started treatment. A week later I was down to 10.7. Yeehah. And I can
tell. The fatigue is gone. I'm actually getting stuff done. Yesterday I
started cleaning the garage. And working on a plumbing problem.
Who knows, I may do a tour of the Rockies this year.

I know I have been busy sorting out some missing on cylinder 4 of the
GS. After wading through eons of manwells and looking up stuff on the
bay of fleas, rebuilding plug caps, along with prospective purchase of
ignition coils etc etc, the problem appears to have been resolved by the
relatively simple expedient of removing the carb top and, very
cautiously, passing some fine copper[1] wire down the jet holes.

Or maybe coincidence fixed it?

Either way, I am about to go out and recheck all is well...

Yes, I know. I'm sick to death of politics at the mo. But we immigrants
can't vote in the general election. But I've been told that I can still
stand there all day wearing a badge and watching all the coercing and
kissing etc. I think I'll give it a miss.

I think this was the only town in the country that didn't change from red
to blue the other day. Resistance is futile.

my brother in law was diagnosed with similar in the 1990s. He was put on a
then experimental drug Imatinib and is still alive today. I believe he has
to take it every day to prevent a relapse.

Yes, hopefully out and playing with bikes.

After I unexpectedly was left stranded by ignition failure[1] of my
high-compression modfied bike recently, I've treble-checked every
ignition component from points, transistor-amplifier, coils, HT leads
and plugs. A new (to the bike) pair of DYNA coils seems to have made it
behave again. Hopefully I will get time to ride it to a bike club
hosting a "Dyno-evening" next week, to see what the power curve looks
like.

[1] which I of course had assumed was a fuelling problem, until the
tachometer[2] started getting hick-ups synchronous with the brief engine
misfires
[2] which gets its signal impulses from one of the coils
