Is Henwee "troubled"? I think he was a bit cross at Helen for trying to
keep things from him, but now he knows them ... I just hope this isn't
seen as an excuse for more "troubled" leading to more character flaws. I
think we've had more than our fill.

Henwee was in trouble at school the other day - hitting another child or
something like that? Of course he is troubled he saw his mother
stabbing his father without context and never had external counselling
as far as we are aware.

I'll admit I'd forgotten he saw that, but I still challenge the modern
assumption that a child who sees such a thing (especially one as young
as Henry was then) and doesn't immediately receive counselling is
_automatically_ troubled.

Talking of George and his nastiness; and I'm reading Practhett,
currently a short story about Granny. What would Granny do about
George? She's not keen on children, is she? Unlike Nanny. She has
powers she refrains from using because she knows there is a red line.
But she did act where a man killed a few children. She does worry
about that though.

I think his 3 parents and most grandparents now have a good idea of
what George is like. Are they likely to blame themselves and make
excuses for him and he'll just carry on getting worse? Can anything BE
done in a case like this? Statistically criminals carry on between
teen and late twenties or thirties and then if they marry or manage to
find a route to work they can do it improves.

One of the placards a protester was carrying just said "George ...".

This is a very hard question. At present, he has negative net value to
society. In civilised society, we just _hope_ he improves - this
includes paying for his time in prison, if it comes to that.
