The UN Security Council is scheduled to vote Friday on a Palestinian request for full UN membership, said diplomats.

The move is expected to be blocked by Israel ally the US because it would effectively recognise a Palestinian state.

The 15-member council is due to vote at 3pm Friday on a draft resolution that recommends to the 193-member UN General Assembly that "the state of Palestine be admitted to membership of the United Nations", diplomats said.

My bet is the US vetoes, the UK abstains because the US veto allows us to, and the rest vote in favour.

Liz Truss is right when she says the UN is ineffective, but only because the US and UK are proponents of evil, supporters of murder and war crimes, are incapable of doing the right thing, have sold their nation's souls to Satan.

Close. For some reason the vote was today. And for reasons not so unclear, Switzerland decided to abstain. Switzerland had previously proposed Palestine should be elevated from observer status to observer state.

Over 92% of votes either way were in favour of Palestinian satehood which was unilaterally sunk by America on behalf of Israel. No surprise there; that's what America does, what Israel's Number One Bitch is required to do.

It was suggested there might not even be the required nine votes in favour.
